FIRST TEN
ANGSTROMS
Dr. Roger Woodward: 1943 - 2008
We are sad to announce the passing of the founder of First Ten Angstroms, Dr. Roger Woodward. Roger passed away on July 22, 2008, after a recurrence of Leukemia. He courageously battled the disease for many years and continued working through his last days, knowing that his time on this earth was limited. His love of family, innovative spirit, entrepreneurial approach to scientific challenges, and love for boating will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves his wife Patricia, son Paul, and daughter Angela.
First Ten Angstroms, Inc. was Roger's livelihood and his passion. He truly cared for his colleagues, customers and suppliers, and he never met a technical problem or software bug he didn't relish and couldn't solve. He spent much of his final months with family and friends, but in typical Roger fashion, he also spent a tremendous amount of time on the company and products, training folks on everything he knew, planning ahead for a First Ten Angstroms without him, and working on future versions of products and software.
We will continue to serve our customers and the scientific community with the care and attention Roger always showed and will continue the First Ten Angstroms tradition of the highest level of quality, service, and support. Roger will be sorely missed, but his spirit will live on through our organization.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 4072, Pittsfield MA 01202. Online condolences may be made here .
